Monica Baumgartner - Director
Monica was born in Switzerland and has been in love with Barcelona
and Spain since she first set foot here over 30 years ago. She admits
that she has always had problems learning languages but through
curiosity and passion for them now speaks five, as they provide
a useful means of communication. She insists that it is possible
to learn, and that you can even do so without suffering in the process.
She has a great appreciation for her team and the good atmosphere
that lets them enjoy a few laughs while they are hard at work.

Noemí Rubio – Director of studies of romance
languages and translations
Her mother claims that at the age of 3 Noemí was already
talking fluently; it must be because the world of words runs through
her veins. Spanish, Catalan, French, English, Italian, English…
discovering different languages and cultures is what she loves.
So, what better job than hers at ICL where she can combine work
and pleasure, she’s got everything she could wish for. She
also tries to transmit that enthusiasm to her department to make
it really come into its own.

Mª José Romance – Administration
She studied science because she loves numbers; languages on the
other hand have always been the subjects she never got round to
doing… Who knows? Maybe that’s precisely why she ended
up at ICL where numbers and words come together marvellously. Was
it fate? What is clear is that sorting out the accounts for all
the different languages and levels comes easily to her. Now there
must be some reason for it, mustn’t there?

Kathy - Administration ·
Kathy was born in Puerto Rico but started travelling when she was
very young and says that living in many different places has given
her a passion for discovering other cultures and languages. When
she eventually came to Barcelona she decided that this was the place
she really wanted to be. Her keen interest in communication led
her to graduate in Advertising and PR a few years ago. Her job at
ICL allows her to be in contact with people from different cultures,
develop her communication skills and make the most of her innate
organisational abilities. She says that she´s taken to her
job at ICL, "like a fish to water!"

receive it regularly to keep ourselves up-to-date, refresh our knowledge
and feel what it's like to be a student from time to time.
