“SPEAKING - PRONUNCIATION” |
| OBJECTIVE: |
Develop the ability to communicate confidently and therefore more effectively, through correct, although not necessarily native, pronunciation / intonation. Avoid the misunderstandings that can arise from incorrect pronunciation through specific strategies and exercises. |
| DESIGNED FOR: |
Managers, secretaries, administrative staff |
| DESCRIPTION: |
Practical sessions (“learning by doing”), where linguistic theory is applied in the form of simulations and role-plays, and short drilling exercises. Sessions include video camera recordings and subsequent feedback. |
| CONTENT: |
- Long and short sounds
- Recognising different sounds, e.g. “it vs. eat”
- Typical problems for Spanish and Catalan speakers
- Word stress and sentence stress
- Linking and assimilation
- Intonation, e.g. in questions and statements

| DURATION: |
Minimum of 5 hours, in a single session or two sessions of 2.5 hrs. |
| PARTICIPANTS: |
Maximum of 8 participants per group, with a similar level (from upper intermediate level upwards – level 6 on our scale). |
| TRAINERS: |
Native and fully qualified ICL trainers, all experts in language teaching and aware of the urgency and problems arising from the situation. |
