The main feature of our in-company courses is that they are tailor-made according to the needs and objectives of our clients and students. |
|
| Specific programmes are designed for each student or group and taught by a specially selected teacher, then a timetable is agreed on (between 7.30 am and 8.30 pm.) which will make for optimum attendance. These factors enable both companies and course participants to maximise the time they have available and to capitalise on their resources. Tailor-made programmesIn Company Languages carries out a personal interview with all students to find out what field they work in and establish their specific needs for their job position, as well as to evaluate their knowledge of the language in question. Once these parameters have been defined, a specific programme is designed with all these factors in mind and with the consensus of all the course participants. Our MethodologyWe use the communicative approach in our teaching methodology, and classes are well structured and orientated toward student participation. The different themes and grammatical structures are introduced and practised within a thematic context, which facilitates new learning, and consolidation is based on an extensive variety of oral and written activities and a range of audio-visual material. Expertise in the written language is acquired through homework (exercises, compositions, Club ICL) set by the teacher.. Monitoring student progressStudent progress is monitored by means of continuous assessment through the use of corrections and explanations, and is measured according to our 9 level scale, which has been devised in accordance with the “Common European Framework”. In addition to continuous assessment and regular exams, the coordinators of the different departments conduct periodic visits to each group to assess students´ rate of progress, adapt the programme and adjust the content, working together with the students and teacher as the situation may require. Regular reports are then compiled based on an evaluation of each student’s progress, his or her participation in class and the attendance record. At the end of the course students are advised on the best line of study to pursue, be it interactive on-line exercises, recommendations for further study, or a course abroad, etc.
